Be Careful ,  I Always Am

Inspired by the call and response of a guardian and their ward, Be Careful, I Always Am highlights the necessity of care and safety in the architected environment. The Till Mobley House Museum is surrounded by scaffold which represents the structure of protection Mamie provided for Emmett. Cladding the scaffold is a decorative vinyl wrap which incorporates the oral history archive provided by Preservation Futures. This important history canonizes the legacy of the Great Migration leading to the arrival of the Till family to the South Side of Chicago and their connection to the larger African American community.
