Jali Pavilion

The Jali Pavilion is a large-scale permanent structure situated within the south side of Chicago’s first ever Agro-Eco-District. Commissioned by Grow Greater Englewood, stewards of the redevelopment project, the design is inspired by the bundt cake container, Black joy, and gathering during the ubiquitous cookout. Composed of Brazilian Ipe cladding, over steel and concrete framing, it features a viewing deck and compartments for a weekly farmers market.
